LifeRaft, a Nova Scotia–based security intelligence company, is sustaining its impressive growth this year and looking to add to its team once again. LifeRaft enables enterprises to be alerted of security threats and business risks using online threat intelligence. Following an additional follow-on investment from the Canadian Business Growth Fund (CBGF), LifeRaft continues to add talent across its organization. We are seeking a VP of Sales to join their team.

The VP of Sales will report to the Chief Growth Officer and be directly responsible for all new customer sales revenues. The successful candidate will work closely with other LifeRaft senior leaders to deliver forecasts, identify opportunities and challenges, and provide recommended solutions to clients and stakeholders. You will be responsible for managing and motivating the team of Account Executives to achieve and exceed net new revenue targets.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Manage your direct report, LifeRaft’s Sales Manager, to accomplish the following sales initiatives and responsibilities:
    • Lead and grow a team of high performing Account Executives and assist with meeting and exceeding sales goals
    • Provide detailed analysis and reporting on your team’s KPI progress on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis
    • Collaborate and align with business development, marketing, client success, and product teams; providing intuitive feedback when needed
    • Maintain an updated CRM solution to provide timely and accurate sales activity tracking and status updates
    • Resolve client issues in a timely and thorough manner; escalates issues to appropriate manager or department as appropriate
  • Provide ongoing training, support, motivation, and development to strengthen your team’s selling techniques enabling them to achieve their goals
  • Implement standardized sales metrics, tactics, and scaling methods to assist with the team and company’s ongoing growth and development
  • Manage the review, negotiation, and execution of legal documents required to close a client contract, such as Master Service Agreements, NDAs, procurement documents/system requirements, and privacy or data provision agreements
  • Work with the Chief Growth Officer to develop and execute a strategy to exceed quarterly/annual revenue goals
  • Work with the leadership team to identify and implement process improvements that promote productivity and drive efficiency
  • Maintain an updated CRM solution to provide timely and accurate sales activity tracking and status updates
  • Resolve client issues in a timely and thorough manner; escalates issues as appropriate
  • Keep informed of product line, competition and industry trends that may impact client business activities

What we are looking for:

  • 5+ years experience in software sales; enterprise sales & SaaS considered an asset
  • 3+ years experience in a sales management capacity, preferably with a growth stage company
  • A customer-first approach with strong communication and negotiating skills
  • Experience using Salesforce as a CRM
  • Experience with formal sales training such as Sandler considered an asset
  • Proven track record of growing and maintaining business relationships
  • Highly motivated and team-oriented with a positive attitude
  • Effective analytical and problem solving abilities
  • Experience selling into Fortune 100 companies considered an asset
  • Successful track record of leading a high performing sales team
